LOCATION: Birmingham – hybrid (2 days per week in office)
SALARY: £25,700 – £34,700 (based on skills and experience)
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The BBC TV Social Edit Hub is looking for a Junior Editor to join for a 3‑month contract. You will create engaging social content that amplifies BBC iPlayer programmes across TikTok, YouTube, Instagram and Facebook. This is an entry‑level opportunity to shape how BBC content reaches younger viewers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Edit clips, cutdowns and bespoke social content using Adobe Premiere Pro
- Format and optimise content for TikTok, YouTube, Instagram and Facebook
- Work across genres – from Entertainment and Reality to Documentaries
- Ensure content meets editorial and compliance standards, working closely with producers and stakeholders
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
- Good experience with Adobe Premiere Pro and evidence of creating social platform content
- Understanding of how young audiences engage with TikTok, YouTube and Instagram
- Strong editorial eye and storytelling instincts tailored for social formats
- Confidence juggling multiple tasks and thriving in a collaborative, fast‑paced environment
DESIRED (NOT REQUIRED)
- Some knowledge of Photoshop / After Effects
- Knowledge of latest trends and best practices in social video editing
- Experience in post‑production workflows and delivery standards
- Editing long‑form and short‑form content for social media
