We are partnered with a well-established main contractor delivering high-quality residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments across London and the South East. Due to continued growth, we are seeking a Design Coordinator with a strong architectural background to support projects on sites within the M25.

The Role

As a Design Coordinator, you will be site-based and responsible for managing and coordinating design information to ensure smooth project delivery. Acting as the link between consultants, subcontractors, and site teams, you will ensure drawings and technical information are accurate, coordinated, and aligned with the construction programme.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate architectural and multidisciplinary design information on live construction sites
  • Review drawings and specifications for buildability and compliance
  • Manage RFIs, technical queries, and consultant responses
  • Liaise with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and client representatives
  • Monitor design progress in line with the construction programme
  • Identify and resolve design clashes (BIM coordination experience desirable)
  • Ensure compliance with UK Building Regulations and project specifications
  • Support value engineering and practical design solutions

Requirements

  • Degree in Architecture or Architectural Technology
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in design coordination, design management, or architectural delivery
  • Experience working with a main contractor or on construction-phase projects
  • Strong understanding of UK construction processes and detailing
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, site-based environment

Desirable

  • Experience on residential, commercial, or mixed-use schemes within London
  • Understanding of planning conditions and statutory approvals
  • BIM coordination experience
