About the Role
The Respiratory Technician role will join a multidisciplinary team to provide respiratory care in patient homes. No prior healthcare experience is required; all technicians will receive an 8-week on-the-job training programme. The role is full time and involves following the Respiratory Service schedule, maintaining equipment and vehicles, and supporting patients and their families.
Responsibilities
- Provide support and reassurance to oxygen therapy users and their families.
- Install and maintain respiratory equipment in line with the NHS Service Level Agreement.
- Manage day-to-day workload, delivering a professional service to patients.
- Operate and maintain safe working practices in accordance with company and statutory requirements.
- Participate in an on-call rota (approximately 4-5 nights per month).
- Respond to ad-hoc requests from the Healthcare Helpline.
- Maintain high standards of driving proficiency in company vehicles.
- Follow good housekeeping practices in regional depots and vehicles.
- Ensure safe loading and unloading of equipment into vehicles.
- Maintain upkeep of your company vehicle.
