Activity Leader
Bayswater Education is a vibrant network of global educational centres dedicated for over 70 years to educating and inspiring people through a life‑changing educational experience. We are looking for experienced and enthusiastic Activity Leaders to join us from January to deliver engaging programmes for our students.
Contract Type
Flexible (no guaranteed hours contract)
Key Responsibilities
- Planning, leading and supervising interesting and fun daytime and evening activities for our students.
- Taking groups of students on cultural and educational visits and excursions.
- Providing a mix of fun and educational offerings such as discos, quiz nights, talent shows and sports.
- Giving learning opportunities and information at points of interest during excursions.
- Ensuring the welfare and safety of the group.
- Attending pre‑employment training (paid).
- Leading groups of students aged 12‑17 on activities, excursions, and visits to museums/attractions.
- Ensuring safety and welfare during activities and excursions.
- Meeting groups on arrival at airports.
- Familiarising with campus, attractions, and local amenities.
- Liaising with Bayswater staff and Group Leaders to develop a friendly atmosphere.
- Organising, leading and fully participating in activities and excursions.
- Providing informative talks when walking around locations.
- Following company health and safety guidelines on campus and off‑site.
- Assisting with student arrivals, campus tours, departures, room checks, supervision, mealtime supervision, curfew duties; may involve evening work.
- Assisting centre managers with administrative tasks.
- Acting in a professional manner with all Bayswater agents, clients, and staff; not engaging in activities that may bring Bayswater into disrepute.
- Wearing the Bayswater uniform provided when on duty.
- Reading and being fully conversant with the Staff Handbook.
Legal Requirements
- Eligibility to live and work in the UK at the time of contract commencement.
- Enhanced DBS Disclosure.
Salary and Benefits
- £12.50 – £13.00 per hour depending on experience.
- Statutory holiday entitlement of 5.6 weeks pro‑rata.
- In‑service support, training and professional development sessions.
- Accommodation may be provided depending on location and availability.
- Bus pass or travel card provided for trips and excursions (staff travel to work not reimbursed).
Knowledge, Qualifications, and Experience (Desirable)
- Experience working with international student groups.
- Experience working on a summer camp.
- Solid knowledge of safeguarding.
- Experience safeguarding children/young persons.
- Experience working in a team.
- Current First Aid certificate.
- Appropriate qualification such as Playwork, Childcare, or Sports Leadership.
