The Logistics Supervisor is responsible for supervising daily logistics and distribution operations to support the timely, accurate, and compliant delivery of products from the assembly process to clients and patients. This role provides hands-on operational leadership, supports multi-site logistics activities, and works closely with the Logistics Manager to ensure service excellence, employee engagement, and adherence to Bayshore Specialty Rx policies and procedures. The Logistics Supervisor supports driver scheduling, routing optimization, systems utilization, and operational reporting while maintaining a high standard of quality, safety, and customer service.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operational Coordination
- Coordinate the transfer of completed orders from assembly to logistics operations.
- Assess daily and anticipate workload through collaboration with intake, assembly, and branch teams.
- Utilize logistics and warehouse systems to monitor expected delivery volumes and timelines.
- Guide assembly and intake teams regarding workflow, delivery sequencing, and operational priorities.
- Establish and maintain designated staging areas to support efficient delivery preparation.
- Review and validate delivery schedules and routes to ensure alignment with operational capacity and service requirements.
- Consider patient, client, and customer availability when planning driver stops and delivery windows.
- Communicate as required with internal stakeholders, clients, and customers to support service-level commitments.
- Determine appropriate transportation methods, including Bayshore drivers, contracted services, or courier partners.
- Assign, reassign, and update route manifests to respond to changing operational needs.
- Schedule courier pick-ups using approved courier platforms and systems.
- Ensure shipment documentation, packing slips, and manifests are accurate and complete.
- Develop and maintain daily driver schedules and route assignments.
- Monitor driver workload, productivity, and route coverage.
- Adjust staffing or routing to address volume fluctuations or operational disruptions.
- Coordinate the transfer of shipments between drivers or routes in cases of non-deliverables.
- Facilitate the pickup and return of pumps, equipment, and waste materials in accordance with established procedures.
- Support visibility of order and delivery status through systems and reporting tools.
- Utilize logistics systems, including WMS, TMS, ERP platforms, GPS tracking, and reporting tools, to monitor performance and compliance.
- Review driver documentation, including manifests, timesheets, GPS travel records, and delivery reports, for accuracy and completeness.
- Identify and escalate operational, system, or service issues to the Logistics Manager, providing recommended corrective actions.
- Assist with supervising logistics staff and operations across assigned sites to ensure consistency of service and process adherence.
- Provide operational assistance and remote coordination for multi-site logistics activities.
- Promote Bayshore’s mission, values, and commitment to quality patient and client care.
- Support delegation of work and responsibilities in alignment with established policies and procedures.
- Maintain appropriate administrative, operational, and performance documentation.
- Assist with onboarding, training, and ongoing development of logistics personnel.
- Support resolution of service issues, employee concerns, and operational challenges in collaboration with management.
- Perform additional duties as required to support logistics operations and organizational objectives.
- Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Post-secondary education in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is considered an asset.
- Minimum of 2–3 years’ experience in a logistics, warehouse, or distribution supervisory role; healthcare experience is an asset.
- Experience supporting operations across multiple locations is an asset.
- Experience coordinating or leading teams of approximately 5–10 employees is preferred.
- Ability to prioritise multiple tasks at once.
- Strong organisational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency with logistics and warehouse management systems and related technology.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to prioritise tasks and adapt in a fast-paced operational environment.
- Ability to work onsite and provide hands-on operational leadership.
- Physical requirements include lifting up to 50 lbs.; employees must inform their supervisor of any limitations.
- Hours of work may vary depending on business needs. Candidates must be flexible to work Monday–Sunday across all shifts due to the nature of the business.
