Description
The General Accountant, under the direction of the Accounting Manager, will support the Controllership unit, focusing on month-end closing, financial reporting, analysis, and external audits.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly balance sheet account analysis and reconciliations.
- Ensure accurate and timely entry and analysis of financial information for month-end closing.
- Analyze variances to determine causes.
- Participate in year-end audit and review processes.
- Support, maintain, and develop accounting systems.
- Assist in developing reporting requirements for corporate managers.
- Help implement and improve month-end closing procedures.
- Contribute to projects and process improvements.
- Collaborate with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Billing, and Financial Planning teams.
- Engage in ongoing education activities.
- Adhere to Bayshore Policies and Procedures.
- Participate in quality and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain confidentiality of client and corporate information.
- Perform other tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in accounting.
- Working towards CPA designation is an asset.
- At least two years of related accounting experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; experience with Microsoft Navision is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management and ability to meet deadlines.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team.
- Leadership qualities for managing projects.
