We are looking for a motivated and detail-focused Senior Finance Officer to join our Finance & IT team at our Head Office in Lochore, Fife. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional who enjoys working with financial data, maintaining robust controls and helping to improve finance processes. You'll play an important role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity and reliability of financial information across a growing multi-site retail business.
The Role
- Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining key financial controls and reconciliations across our retail estate and sales channels.
- You’ll work closely with colleagues across the business to provide accurate financial information, support decision-making and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the Finance function.
- Reconciling and posting weekly shop income.
- Completing bank, balance sheet and sales channel reconciliations.
- Reconciling website, Click & Collect and third-party delivery platform sales.
- Supporting month-end activities and financial reporting.
- Maintaining the Fixed Asset Register and monitoring capital expenditure.
- Preparing and supporting quarterly VAT returns.
- Producing management information and financial reports.
- Supporting process improvements and automation initiatives.
- Acting as deputy to the Finance Manager for designated finance processes when required.
About You
We’re looking for someone who combines strong technical finance skills with a proactive and collaborative approach.
- At least 3 years' experience working within a finance role.
- Strong reconciliation and analytical skills.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including XLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables and SUMIFS.
- Experience preparing management information and financial reports.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Experience completing VAT returns.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- HND in Accounting or equivalent qualification or experience.
- Ideally, you’ll also have experience of finance systems such as MS Dynamics, experience within a retail or multi-site environment and an interest in studying towards a professional accounting qualification.
