Base pay range
Retail Sales Assistant – Govan Shop, G51 3JW
- Various shifts (week to week) including weekends.
- Shift times: 5am – 5:45pm, any 3 days from 7.
- 12 hours per week (additional hours may be available).
- Up to £12.42 per hour plus an excellent benefits package (see below).

Bayne’s the Family Bakers have a proud history serving local communities for over 70 years. We use traditional baking methods to produce the finest, freshest, mouth‑watering products sold exclusively in our own Bakery Shops. Our purpose is to provide our customers with moments of joy, guided by our four values of Customer Focus, Respect, Continuous Improvement & Sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve customers with a range of hot and cold bakery and food‑to‑go products.
- Set up and maintain counter and window displays in line with guidelines.
- Deal with customer pre‑orders and process payment and paperwork accordingly.
- Take payment using electronic tills, processing by cash and card.
- Stock shelves with products.
- Answer queries from customers.
- Give advice and guidance on products.
- Report discrepancies and problems to the management team.
- Clean shop & facilities.
Ideal Candidate
- Previous food retailing or food‑to‑go experience.
- Great communication skills.
- Positive attitude, resilient and adaptable.
- Cash handling experience / working touch‑screen tills (training provided).
- Flexible with hours, available Monday to Sunday, any 3 days from 7.
