To work alongside the Shop Manager and Assistant Manager as part of the management team. Running the shop in their absence while promoting the company values and giving moments of joy to our customers.
Working Hours & Pay: Various shifts change week to week and will include weekends when rostered on. Shifts are between 4:30 am and 5:00 pm, any 4 days from 7. 25 hours per week (although additional hours may be available). £13.42 per hour plus an excellent benefits package.
About the Company: Bayne’s the Family Bakers have a proud history serving local communities for over 70 years. We use traditional baking methods to produce the finest, freshest, mouth‑watering products which we only sell in our own Bakery Shops.
What will YOU do:
- Prepare and serve customers with our award‑winning range of bakery products.
- Set up and maintain counter and window displays.
- Resolve customer queries and complaints.
- Lead by example and live our values every day (Customer Focus, Respect, Continuous Improvement & Sustainability).
- Prioritise tasks and delegate duties to team members.
- Encourage positive workplace behaviours including attitude, integrity, appearance and punctuality.
- Deliver and encourage a consistent and excellent customer experience.
- Maintain high standards including shop appearance and both the quality and availability of products.
- Act as key holder responsible for opening and closing the shop.
- Adhere to and promote compliance with company policies and legislation, including health & safety and food safety.
- Hold return‑to‑work meetings and documented discussions.
- Manage cash in line with company guidelines.
- Execute computer‑related tasks such as data entry and recording figures.

- Supervisory experience ideally in a food retail environment.
- Excellent communication and people skills with the ability to build positive relationships with customers and colleagues alike.
- Open, honest & approachable nature, with an ability to listen and empathise with colleagues and maintain confidentiality.
- Flexible to work various shifts across the shop opening hours.
- Basic computer and numeracy skills.
