We are seeking a reliable and experienced Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently within the local area, ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to all safety regulations. Ideally need a class 1 driver, but would consider class 2 with relevant experience.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a lorry in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
  • Transport goods to designated locations, ensuring timely delivery.
  • Load and unload pallets using tail-lift & pump truck.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
  • Communicate effectively with office and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures related to safety and compliance.

Skills

  • Proven experience as a Delivery Driver or in a similar role, with a strong understanding of commercial driving practices.
  • Excellent driving skills with a valid commercial driving licence.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively.
  • Good communication skills for interacting with customers and team members.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Forklift driving qualification would be an advantage.

Wages & Hours

  • 6:45am - 5:00pm Monday to Friday
  • Guaranteed 47.5 hours per week with overtime available - Overtime paid at £14 per hour.
  • Occasional Saturday mornings paid at £17.50 per hour, minimum 3 hours.
  • Weekly meal allowance of £25.
  • Annual gross income starting at £35,000 per annum (including meal allowance/before any overtime).
