We are currently recruiting for a Systems & Project Accountant on behalf of a large and respected organisation in the housing sector. This is a 2 year fixed-term role ideal for an accountant with strong business process improvement or project experience with a track record of driving process improvements. You’ll play a key role in reviewing and enhancing financial systems, reporting processes, and cross-functional collaboration.
THE JOB
Reporting to the Assistant Director of Finance, you will lead and support initiatives aimed at streamlining financial procedures, enhancing reporting capabilities, and preparing the organisation for a new finance system. This role involves extensive stakeholder engagement and offers the chance to contribute to long-term operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the review and improvement of finance systems and processes
- Scope and document requirements for a new finance system
- Deliver training to finance staff and produce updated process documentation
- Enhance BI reporting and support additional budget monitoring initiatives
- Improve statutory accounts, budgeting, and management accounts processes
- Recommend and implement automation solutions where applicable
- Collaborate with teams to improve budget data collection
THE PERSON
- Qualified or Qualified by experience accounting background
- Proven recent experience in process improvement within finance
- Demonstrable success in implementing system or process changes
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills; experience with VBA and Power Automate a plus
- Familiarity with business intelligence reporting tools
THE OFFER
- 2-Year FTC / Salary of up to £50,000 p.a. (DOE)
