What You'll Do
- Run shifts and deputise for the Store Manager when absent to keep the store operating smoothly, ensuring stock availability, staff cover, clean presentation, quality checks, and maintenance issues are handled swiftly.
- Hand over the shift completely and correctly to the next Shift Manager / Store Manager.
- Supervise the team and ensure outstanding customer service is delivered.
- Assist the Store Manager to maximise sales with minimum wastage, paying attention to daily and weekly targets.
- Ensure POS and labels are correct and in place.
- Participate in training, development and supervision of the team, leading by example.
- Support the Store Manager to ensure Health and Safety compliance with current legislation and company policy.
- Provide great customer service.
- Process ambient, fresh, packaging, and consumable deliveries.
- Display and merchandise stock.
- Rotate stock, check sell‑by/use‑by dates and record.
- Serve, process transactions and pack customers’ groceries in bags.
- Dispose of waste to the correct containers.
- Perform general cleaning duties.
