We are looking for an experienced Optical Assistant to join our team in Lytham St Anne's for a maternity cover from October 2025 to October 2026, working 5 days a week / 39.5 hours, from Monday to Thursday and alternating Fridays and Saturdays.

At Bayfields Opticians and Audiologists, we are a local independent business with a national presence. We prioritise delivering exceptional service and utilising the latest diagnostic and technological equipment in contact lenses, spectacle lenses, and frames.

As our Optical Assistant, you will be the first point of contact for clients, greeting them warmly and providing excellent service both in person and over the phone. You will listen to and understand their needs, work closely with the team to find the best solutions, and focus on delivering outstanding service throughout the client journey. Experience with dispensing single focus, multi-focal, and contact lenses is essential, along with strong IT, communication, and relationship-building skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Greet customers warmly and provide excellent service.
  • Assist customers in selecting suitable frames, lenses, and optical products.
  • Dispense single focus, multi-focal, and contact lenses.
  • Schedule appointments and manage bookings.
  • Maintain product displays and ensure the store is tidy and presentable.
  • Handle administrative tasks, including processing payments and orders.
