Overview
Bayfields Opticians and Audiologists is hiring an Optical Assistant in Clitheroe, BB7 2BT, Lancashire. Salary up to £25,708.80 per annum (rising to £26,644.80 per annum once you have completed our Front of House Development course). This is a 2 days / 15 hours per week role (Monday to Friday 9am – 5:30pm and Saturday 9am – 4pm).
We are an independent business with national reach, focused on local relationships and delivering obsessively great service through our Welcome, Discover, Delight client journey. We offer the latest diagnostic equipment, advances in contact lenses, spectacle lenses and frames, and the latest fashions.
As our Optical Assistant, you will be the first point of contact for clients visiting or contacting the practice. You will greet clients, listen to their needs, and take ownership of their queries. You will work with our Practice Manager, Optometrists, Audiologists, Dispensing Opticians and team members to determine the best solutions for clients and support the Welcome, Discover, Delight client journey. Experience in dispensing single focus lenses, multi-focal lenses and contact lenses is required. Strong IT skills and excellent communication and listening abilities are important to build relationships with the team and clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and provide excellent service.
- Assist customers in selecting suitable frames, lenses, and other optical products.
- Dispense single focus lenses, multi-focal lenses and contact lenses.
- Schedule appointments and manage bookings.
- Maintain product displays and ensure the store is tidy and presentable.
- Handle administrative tasks, including processing payments and orders.

You will learn under the guidance of experienced managers, with opportunities to apply knowledge in a learning practice under supervision of a learning manager.
