BMW Group Financial Services UK is looking for an Underwriter on a fixed term contract until December 2026. This role is based at the Summit ONE Campus in Farnborough.
What awaits you?
- Evaluate financial data making a fully justified and sound decision on all types of Private Customer GB (BMW / MINI) and Private Customer All Brands
- Decisions made within the agreed SLA with Sales.
- Review of underwriting declines, appeals and complaints.
- Review and analyse additional information supplied by the Customer to evidence a decision.
- Collaborate within all underwriting teams and relevant stakeholders (Compliance, Risk, Sales Support, etc.).
- Identify and mitigate Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Financial Crime.
- Responsible for offering advice and support to Private Customer GB (BMW / MINI) and Private Customer All Brands in Application Processing for best customer and company outcomes in line with TCF regulations.
What should you bring along?
- Sound knowledge of the range of finance plans and financial services products is essential.
- Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks for lending, including FCA requirements, Anti-Money Laundering (AML), and Financial Crime and their impact on underwriting processes.
- Proven analytical skills and confident decision-making capability with sound judgement.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders.
- Ability to work to deadlines with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, including escalating issues where appropriate.
Note: The first stage will be a video interview.
Working Pattern:
Our working hours involve 3 shifts that rotate on a weekly basis:
- 08:00-16:15
- 09:00-17:15
- 09:45-18:00
The team also work approx. 16 Saturdays and 9 Sundays a year, all of which they receive a day off in lieu for during the week.
