WHAT AWAITS YOU?
- As a Financial Accountant, with a strong digital first approach you will hold responsibility for monthly reporting according to IFRS for various BMW UK based subsidiaries with a combined average turnover of over £4 B. This will also include the preparation of statutory annual financial statements, active contribution to the monthly management reporting process and significant support to the external audit processes on an ongoing basis throughout the year.
- Lead and contribute to digital transformation initiatives within Finance, identifying opportunities to automate, streamline and enhance processes using modern digital tools, advanced analytics and emerging AI capabilities.
- Explore and deploy AI enabled solutions to streamline accounting workflows such as reconciliations, journal validation, reporting preparation and data quality controls.
- Drive the adoption of next‑generation tools such as intelligent agents, RPA integrations, predictive models, and generative‑AI‑enabled reporting to significantly reduce manual effort and improve accuracy and speed within the Finance functions.
- Shape, digitally, financial planning processes including budgets, “rolling” forecasts, cashflow and FX exposure planning.
- Collaborate proactively with UK and international BMW Group partners, shared service centres and HQ process owners to drive consistent, high‑quality financial outcomes.
- Guarantee adherence to strict deadlines while ensuring high‑quality financial output, financial integrity, and compliance.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (or equivalent) in a business‑related field with a clear focus on accounting and finance, and a passion for technology‑enabled finance, automation or AI‑supported processes.
- Possession of a professional accounting qualification (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent) is desirable.
- Demonstrable experience in financial accounting and audit, either client‑side or within audit practice.
- Experience within an international company and/or “Big Four” practice background is beneficial.
- Knowledge of IFRS and FRS101 required.
- Demonstrable interest and experience in digital finance, automation, and modern analytics tools including AI‑enhanced financial processes (including, audit, OtD, P2P and closing), machine‑learning concepts or intelligent automation frameworks.
- Experience with SAP S/4HANA, SAP SAC, or similar ERP/reporting tools highly beneficial — experience with AI‑enabled features or CoPilot‑style assistants in ERP/Finance systems is a plus.
- Coding experience (Python preferred) for automation or analytical use cases desirable — experience building or leveraging AI models, autonomous agents or data‑driven process intelligence is a strong advantage.
- Self-starter with strong attention to detail and the ability to work to tight deadlines.
