The predicted salary is between 800 - 1400 £ per month.
To assist the Corporate Communications teams across a diverse range of tasks and projects over three years. Apprentices will gain experience in events, social media, vehicle booking / press fleet administration, liaison with journalists, campaign planning, campaign measurement and evaluation, internal communications planning, agency and supplier coordination and operational/team administration. The two successful candidates will rotate between two teams at the company; 18 months with the Corporate Communications team based at BMW Group UK in Farnborough supporting Corporate, Brand, Internal and Product Communications, and 18 months with the Corporate Communications function at MINI Plant Oxford.
What awaits you?
- Assisting the Corporate Communications team in Farnborough, who manage PR for BMW Group, working with a broad range of journalists, social media personalities and others who influence public opinion about our brands, products and services.
- Hosting media events to launch the company’s latest models.
- Support in creation of Brand PR campaigns across BMW and MINI, but also in CSR and Sustainability.
- Assist with our charity partnership, including fundraising across sites, creation of fundraising ideas and partnership measurement and evaluation.
- Sometimes dealing with challenging issues which have the potential to impact the company’s reputation in the news media.
- Supporting the MINI Plant Oxford communications team, who are responsible for all media relations relating to BMW’s manufacturing facilities in the UK, plant tours, community relations, events and internal communications.
What should you bring along?
- A minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at Grade 6 (or above), including Maths and English.
- Plus, a minimum of 2 A-Levels (or equivalent) at Grade B (or above) or equivalent BTEC Level 3 in a relevant discipline.
- Candidates will need to be enthusiastic and well-disciplined.
- Excellent communication skills – whether in person, on the phone or written - are essential.
- Consistent and reliable attention to detail.
- Demonstrable interest towards a career in communications, marketing and/or PR.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) is required.
- It will be necessary to exhibit initiative and a conscientious attitude throughout the interview process.
What we offer?
Whilst developing on-the-job knowledge, the successful candidates will also undertake a fully funded study towards the attainment of a BA (Hons) in Management and Business, through the attendance at Abingdon & Witney College (affiliated with Oxford Brookes University).
