We are looking for dynamic and inspirational Residential Childcare Support Workers to join our already established Residential Team at Bay View on a casual basis, covering shifts within the business as and when needed. You'll be working in one of our family feel children's homes in Carnforth or rural North Lancaster, with a maximum of four young people per home.
Our service requires individuals who will help guide young people aged 8-18 with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties to success and who are dedicated to supporting our ethos. You will support in providing a safe, secure, homely and positive environment for the children and young adults in the home so that their lives are progressively improved. All our homes are rated either 'Good or Outstanding' by Ofsted, so we need individuals to continue improving and developing the quality, image and reputation of the Home.
You must be over 21 years of age and hold a full UK driving license. It is a requirement that you hold a Diploma Level 3 in Working with Children & Young People.
Key Responsibilities:
- To carry out duties as a Childcare Worker and Key Worker to exceed National Standards laid down by Ofsted.
- To ensure the highest possible standard of childcare is provided to the children who are resident in the Home.
- To purposefully and systematically improve the lives of all the young people who are resident at the Home.
- To contribute to building and maintaining a culture of trust and mutual respect between all involved in the Home.
- To develop appropriate and high-quality care plans for each young person.
- To adhere to all legal requirements, Ofsted standards, and the policies and procedures of Bay View Childcare.
- To keep the Home clean, tidy, safe, and secure at all times.
- To build constructive and trusting relationships with the children in the Home.
- To create an open, positive, and inclusive environment for the children.
- To supervise the children actively and keep them safe.
- To manage and de-escalate any conflict situations that may arise.
- To communicate issues and concerns relating to the children to the Registered Manager, Deputy Manager, and Shift Leader.
- To carry out risk assessments for all new activities as requested.
- To engage in activities with the children, similar to a good parent.
- To maintain regular and constructive communication with the family and friends of the children.
- To contribute to reviews of any child for whom you are the 'Key Worker'.
- To follow all company policies and procedures and complete necessary paperwork diligently.
- To assist with cooking and purchasing foodstuffs as required.
