We're seeking a flexible Residential Childcare Support Worker to join our Bay View team on a casual basis, covering shifts as needed. You'll work in one of our family-style homes in Heysham or rural North Lancaster, supporting up to four young people. You'll help young people aged 8-18 with social, emotional, and behavioural needs, creating a safe and nurturing environment and helping maintain our Good/Outstanding Ofsted standards.
You must be 21+, hold a full UK driving licence, and have a Level 3 Diploma in Working with Children & Young People.
Childcare Responsibilities:- Provide high-quality childcare that consistently meets and exceeds Ofsted National Standards and Bay View Childcare policies.
- Help create and deliver individual care plans that support each young person's needs, wellbeing, and long-term outcomes.
- Build positive, trusting relationships with children, understanding their backgrounds and supporting them through daily routines and activities.
- Create a safe, inclusive, homely environment where children feel valued and supported.
- Actively supervise young people, respond to signs of distress, and de-escalate conflicts in line with policy.
- Maintain strong, professional communication with families, friends, and external professionals as required.
- Promote a culture of trust, respect, and positive behaviour across the home for both children and staff.
- Record all relevant information accurately, complete required paperwork, and follow safeguarding, health & safety, and risk assessment procedures.
- Participate in activities with children, support meal preparation, and help maintain the cleanliness and safety of the home.
- Fulfil all key-worker duties, including family communication, contributing to reviews, and ensuring each child is supported as an individual.
