We are looking for warm, motivated and inspiring Residential Childcare Support Workers to join our welcoming team at Bay View. You will be based in one of our family-style homes in Heysham or rural North Lancashire, each supporting a maximum of four young people. In this role, you will support young people aged 8-18 with social, emotional and behavioural needs, helping them to build confidence and achieve positive outcomes. All of our homes are rated 'Good' or 'Outstanding' by Ofsted, and we are looking for individuals who are committed to maintaining and developing these high standards.
If you do not already hold a relevant qualification, you will complete either the Level 3 Diploma in Working with Children and Young People or the Level 4 Children, Young People and Families Practitioner Apprenticeship within two years. A full UK driving licence is essential.

Principal Accountabilities
- Deliver high-quality care and key worker responsibilities, ensuring Ofsted National Minimum Standards are consistently exceeded
- Provide a high standard of childcare for all young people in the home
- Actively contribute to improving the lives and outcomes of every young person
- Build positive and effective relationships with families, friends and external professionals
- Maintain a culture of trust, respect and teamwork across the home for both children and staff
The Provision of Childcare
- Contribute to high-quality, individual care plans for each young person and follow all legal requirements, Ofsted standards and Bay View policies
- Record and share feedback from young people, families and professionals with the management team
- Help keep the home clean, safe and welcoming at all times
- Build trusting and supportive relationships, understanding each child's background and needs
- Be approachable, positive and proactive, creating an inclusive environment where children feel they belong
- Support children with daily activities, helping to build routines, confidence and life skills
- Supervise young people closely, respond to signs of concern and de-escalate situations in line with policy
- Communicate concerns promptly to management and complete all required documentation accurately
- Carry out risk assessments for new and existing activities
- Take part in activities with children, acting as a positive role model and supportive key worker
- Maintain constructive communication with families and contribute to child reviews
- Uphold company policies and ensure records are completed thoroughly
- Support with cooking and food shopping, ensuring meals meet agreed standards
