Bay View Childcare, which is part of the Polaris Community, is looking for a child-focused Registered Manager for our established children's home in Slyne, Lancaster. Our children's home cares for four children aged 8-18 with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties. About the Role

As Registered Manager, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, safe and nurturing care for children in the home. You will oversee day-to-day operations, lead staff practice, maintain strong safeguarding arrangements and drive continuous improvement in line with Bay View Childcare's standards, ethos and the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015. You will provide confident leadership, ensuring care is child-centred, outcomes-focused and responsive to the individual needs of each child.

This includes maintaining robust safeguarding systems, safe staffing arrangements, clear risk assessments and effective multi-agency working. You will support and develop your team through supervision, mentoring and care-focused training, ensuring care plans, safeguarding procedures and support services are implemented consistently and effectively.

Requirements for the Role

  • A Leadership and Management qualification, or willingness to work towards one, together with NVQ Level 3 in Caring for Children.
  • Strong childcare and safeguarding knowledge, including the Children Act 1989, Care Standards Act 2000, the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards.
  • Experience of managing staff teams, excellent communication skills, and the ability to lead with confidence, professionalism and resilience.
  • A genuine passion for children's homes and a strong commitment to achieving the best possible outcomes for children.
