Job Summary:
The Medication Administration Program (MAP) Administrator is responsible for overseeing and managing the medication administration processes within Bay Cove Human Services Inc. This role involves ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, developing and implementing policies and procedures, and providing training and support to healthcare staff for both Developmental Services and Mental Health services at Bay Cove. The administrator will collaborate with clinical teams to optimize medication management practices, enhance patient safety, and improve therapeutic outcomes. Key responsibilities include monitoring medication administration protocols, conducting audits, addressing medication-related issues, and maintaining accurate documentation. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of pharmacology, and a commitment to patient-centered care. This position requires excellent communication abilities, analytical thinking, and a proactive approach to problem-solving in a dynamic healthcare environment.
Essential Functions of the Position:
- Provides for ongoing Medication Administration Program (MAP) training that prepares employees for MAP certification exam and medication related work duties.
- Provides re-certification classes and evaluation for staff Schedules MAP tests and maintains a test database.
- Provides individual MAP tutoring.
- Works with the MAP consultant to establish workflow for all Bay Cove staff attending the MAP program
- Tracks staff certification status, and maintains certification database and Bay Net list.
- Performs site assessments of MAP operations and directs staff in needed follow up activities to fulfill requisite MAP activities.
- Maintains MAP licenses for all housing sites; assists house staff in preparing for MAP, licensing, and accreditation inspections.
- Works with DMH, DPH, to fulfill all MAP requirements.
- Additional responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
Job Requirements:
- Massachusetts Licensed Registered Nurse
- MAP certification
- Two years experience teaching a MAP program in a healthcare setting
- Experience in residential services preferred.
- Ability to travel to community programs.
- Professional writing, strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
