Bay Cove Human Services’ mission is to partner with people to overcome challenges and realize personal potential. Bay Cove pursues this mission by providing individualized and compassionate services to people facing the challenges associated with developmental disabilities, mental illness, substance use disorders, and homelessness at more than 175 program sites throughout Greater Boston and Southeastern Massachusetts.
Job Summary: Assist EI clinicians in communicating with families in their native language by attending home visits, intakes, and assessments. Assist in finding resources in the community for children and families.
- Fluency in Haitian Creole & English is required
This is a non-exempt position
Essential Functions of Position:
- Assists with therapeutic intervention with children and their caregivers as needed, interpreting as needed during such sessions.
- Provides services, in conjunction with Early Intervention clinicians, where family and child are (home, daycare, community).
- Assists with developmental assessments of children assigned to other team members, interpreting as needed on such assessments.
- Assists with identifying resources in the community relevant to the needs of the children and families served, and sharing those resources with families and staff.
- Has demonstrated professional documentation and communication skills, as well as demonstrated organizational skills.
- Attends all necessary meetings (such as IEP planning meetings) prior to child’s transition out of the program.
- Attends supervision, management and staff meetings regularly.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
