We're looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Weekend Chef to support our kitchen team during our busiest trading days, helping us maintain high standards across our dynamic food operation.

You will be part of a busy, multi-outlet kitchen, supporting service across:

  • A popular Café Restaurant
  • A high-volume Barista Coffee Bar
  • A lively Playbarn Café & concessions
  • A varied programme of events and functions

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Head Chef and Sous Chef in delivering consistent, high-quality food across the Café Restaurant, Barista Coffee Bar, Playbarn Café, Concessions, and Events.
  • Assist with food preparation and service, ensuring efficient, high-standard dishes during peak periods.
  • Help maintain clean, organised kitchen areas in line with food safety and hygiene requirements.
  • Follow all food safety procedures, including allergen awareness, stock rotation, and HACCP compliance.
  • Work closely with the wider kitchen and front-of-house teams to ensure smooth and timely service, especially during busy weekends and events.
  • Support with basic stock handling and kitchen organisation to ensure readiness for service.
  • Maintain consistency and pace during high-volume service periods.
  • Contribute to a positive, team-focused environment, bringing energy and willingness to help.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Chef, Commis Chef, or Chef de Partie in a busy, quality-focused kitchen.
  • Confidence working in high-volume service, staying calm and performing well under pressure during peak weekend periods.
  • Ideally have exposure to events or function service, supporting smooth delivery.
  • Passion for fresh, well-prepared food and maintaining consistent standards.
  • Reliable team player, supporting the wider kitchen team during busy shifts.
  • Basic understanding of food safety, hygiene, and allergen control.
  • Well organised, with good attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently.
  • Positive, flexible, and willing to get involved where needed.
  • Must be available to work weekends consistently (16 hours per week).
