Job Description
We are seeking a talented and energetic Weekend Breakfast Chef to join our catering team in Knottingley. As the Weekend Breakfast Chef, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking a canteen style breakfast. This role requires excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Plan and prepare a variety of breakfast items, ensuring high quality and consistency
- Manage the breakfast kitchen operations during weekend shifts
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth service and timely food preparation
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen area, adhering to all food safety and hygiene standards
- Monitor and control food costs, minimizing waste while maintaining quality
- Ensure proper storage and rotation of ingredients
- Adapt to changing customer needs and dietary requirements
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a breakfast chef or in a similar culinary role
- Strong knowledge of breakfast food preparation techniques and trends
- Excellent understanding of food safety principles and hygiene standards
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong time management and multitasking skills
- Team player with good communication abilities
- Current Food Safety Certification required
- Experience in high-volume breakfast service
- Knowledge of various dietary restrictions and allergens
- Ability to work early morning hours and weekends
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
