Job Description

We are seeking a reliable and organised Kitchen Porter to join our team in Stirling, United Kingdom. As a Kitchen Porter, you will play a vital role in maintaining the efficiency and cleanliness of our kitchen operations. Working collaboratively with our chefs and kitchen staff, you will ensure that our kitchen remains a hygienic, well-organised, and productive environment. Responsibilities:

  • Wash dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment by hand or using industrial dishwashers, ensuring all items are thoroughly cleaned and sanitised to the highest standards.
  • Clean and sanitise kitchen surfaces, countertops, food preparation areas, and equipment regularly, maintaining a hygienic working environment at all times.
  • Empty rubbish bins and ensure proper disposal of waste materials in accordance with health and safety regulations.
  • Assist chefs and cooks with basic food preparation tasks, including peeling, chopping, slicing, and portioning ingredients.
  • Receive, store, and organise kitchen supplies and ingredients efficiently, maintaining accurate inventory records and alerting management to stock levels.
  • Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations, ensuring all kitchen equipment is in good working order and reporting any faults promptly.
  • Support the kitchen team during busy service periods, demonstrating flexibility and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Take initiative in identifying areas for improvement and contributing ideas to enhance kitchen operations and efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods throughout your shift.
  • Capability to lift and carry heavy objects safely and correctly.
  • Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organisation.
