Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and efficient Catering Assistant to join our dynamic team in Glasgow, United Kingdom. As a Catering Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our customers receive high-quality, nutritious meals in a clean and welcoming environment.

  • Assist in the preparation of food and snacks, following recipes and portion guidelines
  • Serve meals to customers in a friendly and professional manner
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen and dining areas
  • Operate catering equipment safely and efficiently
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth food service operations
  • Assist with stock rotation and inventory management
  • Comply with all food safety regulations and organisational policies
  • Participate in food safety training programmes as required
  • Contribute to a positive dining experience for all customers
  • Adapt to changing priorities and work flexibly during busy periods

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in food service or catering is desirable
  • Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanour
  • Strong attention to detail, particularly regarding food presentation and hygiene
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings and weekends if required
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights
  • Basic numeracy skills for portioning and stock management
  • Effective time management and organisational abilities
  • Capability to work efficiently under pressure during peak service times
  • Willingness to learn and adhere to food safety practices
  • Food hygiene certification is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided
