Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of food and snacks, following recipes and portion guidelines
- Serve meals to customers in a friendly and professional manner
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen and dining areas
- Operate catering equipment safely and efficiently
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth food service operations
- Assist with stock rotation and inventory management
- Comply with all food safety regulations and organisational policies
- Participate in food safety training programmes as required
- Contribute to a positive dining experience for all customers
- Adapt to changing priorities and work flexibly during busy periods
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service or catering is desirable
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanour
- Strong attention to detail, particularly regarding food presentation and hygiene
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings and weekends if required
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights
- Basic numeracy skills for portioning and stock management
- Effective time management and organisational abilities
- Capability to work efficiently under pressure during peak service times
- Willingness to learn and adhere to food safety practices
- Food hygiene certification is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided
