Location: Follingsby Lane | Pay: ÂŁ13.50 p/h | Hours: 35 hrs 8:00PM -3:30 AM | Days: 5 days over 7.

Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Chef de Partie to join our culinary team in a night shift role at our esteemed restaurant in Gateshead, United Kingdom. As a Chef de Partie you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen during evening hours, maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation.
- Prepare, cook, and present dishes according to our menu specifications and quality standards
- Manage a specific section of the kitchen, overseeing junior staff and ensuring efficient workflow
- Assist the Sous Chef and Head Chef in menu planning and implementation
- Maintain strict food safety and hygiene standards in compliance with regulations
- Monitor and control stock levels, minimising waste and maintaining cost‑effectiveness
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely and coordinated food service
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff in culinary techniques and kitchen procedures
- Adapt to the fast‑paced environment of night shift operations, ensuring consistent food quality during peak hours
- Assist in the development of new dishes and menu items as required
- Maintain a clean and organised workstation throughout the shift
Qualifications
- Culinary degree or diploma from a recognised institution
- Minimum 2‑3 years’ experience as a Chef de Partie or in a similar role
- Proven experience working night shifts in a professional kitchen environment
- Strong culinary expertise and proficiency in various cooking techniques
- In‑depth knowledge of food preparation, presentation, and quality control
- Excellent understanding of food safety and hygiene standards, with relevant certification
- Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced kitchen environment
- Strong time management and organisational skills
- Effective communication and team collaboration abilities
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and work in a kitchen environment
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required
