We are looking for a Food Service Assistant at our location in Coven, Wolverhampton. The role will be working within a small team, assisting with all aspects of the busy staff restaurant, including front of house, general cleaning duties and stock management. As a general assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting various aspects of our operations, ensuring smooth day-to-day functioning and excellent customer service.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and serving of food and beverages, maintaining high standards of hygiene and presentation.
- Support hospitality services as required, ensuring a welcoming environment for customers and guests.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen, dining, and service areas.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient operations across all areas.
- Provide friendly and professional customer service to students, staff, and visitors.
- Undertake various administrative tasks to support the smooth running of the facility.
- Assist with stock management and inventory control.
- Support the set-up and breakdown of events or meetings as needed.
- Adapt to changing priorities and assist in other areas of the organisation as required, working as part of a team to lead by example, protecting the planet and supporting local communities.
Qualifications
- Experience in a catering, food service, or customer-facing environment desirable but not essential.
- Basic understanding of food hygiene and safety practices; a Level 1 Food Safety Certificate is advantageous.
- Strong teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly, customer-focused attitude.
- Keen attention to detail and ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work various shifts, including weekends and evenings if required.
- Ability to multitask and prioritise workload efficiently.
- Basic computer skills for administrative tasks.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities.
