Role Description

As a Chef De Partie at BaxterStorey in Fareham, you will work full time on-site, supporting the kitchen team in delivering high‑quality, seasonal dishes for guests and clients. You will manage your own section, ensuring consistent preparation, cooking, and presentation of menu items in line with company standards and food safety guidelines. Daily responsibilities include mise en place, monitoring stock levels, minimizing waste, and assisting with ordering and stock rotation. You will collaborate closely with the Head Chef and Sous Chef on menu development, specials, and service planning, while helping to train and support more junior team members. The role also involves maintaining a clean, safe working environment, following all health and safety procedures, and contributing ideas to enhance the guest experience.

Qualifications

  • Strong culinary skills, including experience running a section, preparing fresh ingredients, and executing dishes to a high standard.
  • Solid knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and allergen management, with relevant certifications (e.g., Food Safety Level 2 or equivalent).
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced kitchen environment, managing time, prioritizing tasks, and staying calm under pressure.

  • Experience in contract catering, hotel, restaurant, or similar hospitality settings is highly beneficial.
