Greenmeadow Community Farm has been open for 8 months and is fast becoming a popular, family-focused destination. The farm is located at Greenforge Way, Cwmbran, Torfaen, NP44 5AJ. We are seeking a Weekend Chef to support our kitchen team during our busiest trading days, helping deliver a high-quality food experience across our diverse operation.

- Hours: 24 hours per week (weekends + peak periods)
- Pay: £15.40 per hour

Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the Head Chef in delivering the culinary vision across the Farmshop, Café Restaurant, Barista Coffee Bar, Playbarn Café, Concessions, and Events & Hospitality spaces
- Supervising and mentoring kitchen staff, ensuring high standards of food quality, safety, and hygiene are maintained at all times
- Managing daily kitchen operations, including food prep, stock rotation, allergen control, and assisting with supplier coordination
- Working closely with front-of-house and events teams to ensure smooth service for school visits, weddings, seasonal events, and private functions
- Maintaining consistency and efficiency across a logistically varied site, ensuring timely and high-quality food delivery
- Upholding food safety and hygiene standards, including compliance with HACCP procedures
- Contributing to menu development, bringing creativity and seasonal inspiration to the table
- Driving continuous improvement, offering ideas and feedback to enhance the food offering and kitchen operations
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Chef de Partie in a high-volume, quality-focused environment
- A strong background in wedding and event catering – you know how to deliver under pressure and support seamless execution
- A track record of supporting, training, and motivating kitchen teams to maintain consistently high standards
- Financial awareness, with experience in food cost control, GP targets, stock management, and supplier coordination
- Excellent coaching and delegation skills – you lead by example and support the Head Chef in developing the team
- Highly organised, detail-oriented, and calm under pressure, especially during peak service
- An empathetic and effective communicator with a collaborative, solution-focused mindset
- Strong menu execution, planning, and problem-solving abilities
- Able to work 5 out of 7 days, including weekends and evenings as required by the operation
