Find out more about us at Job Description We are looking for a dynamic Bar orientated Manager with great food and table service knowledge to join our team at the BFI Bar & Kitchen! The BFI Bar & Kitchen is one of the most accessible venues in Central London nestled in the heart of the ‘Home of British Cinema’. During the day, enjoy hot drinks, sandwiches and salads in our lounge; whilst the evening offers the venue comes alive with a superb wine list, great cocktails and a secret speakeasy cocktail bar accessible through a sliding bookcase. The venue is a destination venue in it’s own right but also benefits from the footfall of the BFI’s 4 screens, supporting the institution on Festivals and events culmination in the annual London Firl Festival in the autumn. Salary: £35,000 basic Contract: Full Time / Permanent 5 day working week Mixture of shifts with focus on evenings Service charge Company benefits Excellent development opportunity Collaboration with the Operations Manager on drinks vision About the Bar Manager role: To deliver a seasonally changing drinks list and working collaboratively on wine curation and regular specials To lead the team in both exceptional bar service and table service through our areas To collaborate with our Events Team and sister venue The Riverfront, also within the BFI building Actively engage in development of products and suppliers To supervise, train, manage and motivate the team To make sure standards or service are excellent To ensure we over-achieve customers experience and expectation To continuously work towards improving sales and service Supporting and managing the performance of the team through ongoing evaluations, listening, training, and mentoring Ensuring the highest levels of Food and Health & Safety are always maintained Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess good food and beverage knowledge in addition to outstanding customer service, and leadership skills. There must be a willingness to learn and develop in all things food and drink. Must be a Team player and enjoy what we do!
