We are looking for a reliable and self-motivated Food Service Assistant/Cook to join our team on a 20-hour contract. This role consists of 2 tea shifts and 2 night shifts per week and is ideal for someone who enjoys working independently in a fast-paced catering environment. This is a lone-working role, so confidence, organisation, and the ability to manage your own workload are essential.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Preparing and finishing food made by the daytime team
- Serving customers
- Maintaining food safety standards
- Ensuring the kitchen and service areas remain clean and organised throughout the shift
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and finish food produced by the daytime kitchen team
- Serve customers in a friendly and professional manner
- Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene
- Ensure all hot food is held and served at the correct temperatures
- Complete cleaning duties and maintain a tidy working environment
- Monitor stock levels and report any shortages
- Follow company policies and procedures at all times
- Open and close the service area independently
Skills & Experience:
- Previous catering, kitchen, or food service experience preferred
- Comfortable working independently and managing lone shifts
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Basic food hygiene knowledge
- Reliable, organised, and able to work under pressure
