As a People Business Partner, you will work closely with the Senior Operations teams in the patch to develop and implement the BaxterStorey UK People Plan that supports current and future business growth and opportunities. In this generalist role, you will provide coaching, consultation, and expertise on a full range of people services including staffing, talent management, engagement, employee relations, learning & development, and performance management to attract, engage and retain employees and support the business as we grow.

Job Description
Strategic Alignment
- Partner with the Operations Directors and Regional Directors to develop and implement people plans that support business objectives.
- Influence and support organisational change initiatives.
Employee Relations
- Provide guidance on high level, complex ER issues including grievances, disciplinaries, and performance management.
- Ensure fair and consistent application of people policies, ensuring the employment legislation and compliance is adhered to at all times.
- Be the point of contact for any ACAS or tribunal, escalating to the Director of People at all times.
- Complex and partner on any complex TUPE in and out.
- Support the Operations Directors with any local Trade Union relations.
- Redundancies and restructures.
Talent Management
- Proactively ensuring there is workforce planning, succession planning, and talent development in place that is reviewed regularly.
- Collaborate with L&D to identify learning and development needs.
- Apprenticeships – support and nurture any degree apprentices, ensuring you “check in” with them and they are on the correct path for their apprenticeship.
Performance & Engagement
- Positively drive a performance management culture, supporting the Operations Directors with any processes, including delivering feedback.
- Ensure that there are agreed local action plans in place that support the annual employee engagement process and to increase retention.
Data & Reporting
- Analyse monthly people metrics to identify trends and recommend interventions.
- Prepare reports for the Operations Directors and Director of People on a monthly basis.
Compliance
- Ensure people practices comply with employment law and internal policies.
- Support audits and risk mitigation strategies.
- Workforce planning – Quinex, Plan Day, Dayforce (if required).
- Zero Hours, Student Visas, People Audits within region / patch.
Qualifications
- Solid generalist HR experience, partnering with the Business at all levels.
- In depth knowledge and understanding of HR policy, process, and employment legislation.
- Ability to think creatively and work autonomously using your own initiative.
- Great influencing skills, and being credible to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
- Commercially focused thinker at an operational and strategic level.
- Demonstrable experience of delivering people related change initiatives.
- Good knowledge and experience of using HR systems.
- Analytical mindset with experience using people data to make informed decisions.
- Experience with all aspects of the employee lifecycle, from recruitment to L&D, employee relations and ED&I.
- CIPD Level 5 or above (or working towards).
