Job Description

Baxterstorey is seeking a talented and dedicated commis chef to join our culinary team in Coventry, United Kingdom. As a Commis chef, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the high standards of our kitchen operations and contributing to the overall success of our food service.

  • Prepare, cook, and present high-quality dishes in your designated section of the kitchen
  • Ensure all food items are prepared to the exact specifications of our menu and recipes
  • Maintain a clean and organised workstation, adhering to food safety and hygiene standards
  • Assist in stock rotation and inventory management to minimise waste
  • Collaborate with other chefs and kitchen staff to ensure smooth service delivery
  • Contribute to menu planning and development, offering creative input when appropriate
  • Train and supervise junior kitchen staff in your section
  • Assist the Head Chef as required
  • Maintain knowledge of current food trends and culinary techniques

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a similar role within a professional kitchen
  • Excellent knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, and kitchen equipment
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
