Job Description
Baxterstorey is seeking a talented and dedicated commis chef to join our culinary team in Coventry, United Kingdom. As a Commis chef, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the high standards of our kitchen operations and contributing to the overall success of our food service.
- Prepare, cook, and present high-quality dishes in your designated section of the kitchen
- Ensure all food items are prepared to the exact specifications of our menu and recipes
- Maintain a clean and organised workstation, adhering to food safety and hygiene standards
- Assist in stock rotation and inventory management to minimise waste
- Collaborate with other chefs and kitchen staff to ensure smooth service delivery
- Contribute to menu planning and development, offering creative input when appropriate
- Train and supervise junior kitchen staff in your section
- Assist the Head Chef as required
- Maintain knowledge of current food trends and culinary techniques
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a similar role within a professional kitchen
- Excellent knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, and kitchen equipment
- Strong organisational and time management skills
