We are looking for a Café Supervisor to join the team at Rothesay Rooms located in the heart of Ballater. Rothesay Rooms is a busy, welcoming café celebrating the very best of Scottish produce and community spirit. We are more than just a place to eat – we are a community hub where locals and visitors come together over warm smiles, hearty dishes, and genuine Scottish hospitality.
We are open Wednesday to Sunday serving breakfasts and brunch through to lunch and afternoon teas. We also host large groups and private events. At Rothesay Rooms, we believe in the power of food to bring people together.

About the Café Supervisor role:
This is a hands-on supervisory position suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and leads by example. You will play a key role in ensuring smooth service, supporting the team, and delivering the excellent customer experience we’re known for.
Key Responsibilities:
- To oversee the day-to-day operations by ensuring that our product and the service we provide are always of the highest standard
- To supervise, manage and motivate the team
- To support management team in working towards improving sales and service
- Ensuring high levels of Food and Health & Safety are always maintained
The ideal candidate will possess good food and beverage knowledge in addition to outstanding customer service and leadership skills. Qualifications:
Ideally you will have experience in a busy café or hospitality environment. Supervisory experience is preferred but not essential for the right candidate looking for a step up. Must be local to the area, or willing to commute to Ballater. Shifts are Wednesday - Sunday usually within 9am to 5pm, and with the occasional evening shift too for events. This is a full-time role, however a job share may be considered.
