An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Regional HSE Advisor to support our busy teams across our Baxters sites in Burntwood, London & Colchester. As part of the European HSE Team, in the role of Regional HSE Advisor, you will deliver the HSE agenda for three UK manufacturing sites. You will lead and support operations with the application of Health and Safety to ensure legal compliance. As part of the team, you will be expected to promote a high-performance safety culture and deliver risk reduction across the manufacturing operations. You will be supported by the European function and be providing a programme for delivery with some local variation. You will be expected to travel between the three sites and ensure all sites are at the required standard.

Responsibilities:

  • To assist site teams with planning risk assessments to ensure coverage of all activities (including non-routine, maintenance, emergency/unplanned events).
  • To be a focal point on site for HSE related issues, develop supportive relationships with operations and other key stakeholders and drive an engaging proactive agenda.
  • Help deliver the European and site HSE plan and take a proactive approach in its delivery with CAPEX submission requests that are evidence based and supported.
  • Lead health and safety meetings, ensuring they are effective advising both management and H&S Reps, as appropriate.
  • Host and lead any external HSE audits and carry out internal HS&E audits and produce reports as required.
  • Produce and deliver site-based HS&E reports, shift briefings, lessons learned briefings.
  • Assist to maintain the HS&E electronic filing system.
  • Assist with HS&E projects, as directed by the Factory General Manager or other stakeholders.
  • Update site information onto the HS&E Action register with actions from inspections, audits, investigations, meetings, observation cards, enforcing authorities, etc.
  • Help deliver risk reduction in operations identify improvements and engage with stakeholders.
  • Lead and promote the Goal Zero program across the three sites.
  • Update site COSHH information onto the database.
  • Support incident investigation and review accident packs, update incident and accident register and monitor close out reports.
  • Support review panels to ensure corrective actions have been completed.
  • Liaise with site Engineering Departments to ensure PPM and statutory examinations and inspections are carried out and that records and certificates are maintained.
  • Support and site ERT, provide guidance, support drills and training.
  • Plan and lead HSE workshops and campaigns to drive engagement and reduce injury.
  • Promote the use of STAR cards and drive the campaign forward.
  • Support the ongoing HSE technical training assessing providers and identifying gaps.
  • Support the process of regular review and production of HSE governance packs for communication in the business.
  • Support and help drive the sustainability agenda across the site.
  • Work collaboratively with other stakeholders such as Technical to support audit processes.

Person Specification:

  • NEBOSH (Diploma preferred) General will be considered for exceptional candidates.
  • IOSH Managing Safety.
