We’re looking for a highly organised and detail-focused Homecare Dispenser to join our team. In this role, you’ll support the safe and accurate preparation, handling, and dispatch of medicines for Homecare patients. Working in a regulated environment, you’ll follow Good Documentation Practice (GDP), Good Warehouse Practice (GWP) and pharmacy procedures under the guidance of the Responsible Pharmacist—helping ensure patients receive critical treatments safely and on time.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Receiving and booking in products, ensuring accurate system entry and storage
- Storing medicines in line with batch control and first-expired, first-out (FEFO) principles
- Picking, dispensing, and dispatching patient orders with a high level of accuracy
- Working to strict SOPs and operational KPIs to meet service requirements
- Carrying out compliance and quality checks across warehouse and pharmacy operations
- Escalating discrepancies or issues to the management team or Responsible Pharmacist
- Recording incidents, complaints, and supporting investigations where needed
- Managing returns and safe disposal of medicines and waste
What We’re Looking For
Qualifications
- NVQ Level 2 in Dispensing Assistant (or equivalent)
Skills
- Strong attention to detail and high levels of accuracy
- Good IT skills, including experience with warehouse or pharmacy systems
- Well organised with strong communication skills
Experience
- Experience in a pharmacy and/or warehouse environment
- Experience following standard operating procedures
- Cold chain handling experience (desirable)
Knowledge
- Understanding of safeguarding (Level 1 or equivalent)
- Knowledge of safe manual handling practices
- Awareness of Good Documentation Practice
Working Environment
- Active role involving frequent manual handling
- Shift-based working patterns
- Use of PPE required (e.g. gloves, safety boots, protective eyewear)
