An established building services consultancy is looking to recruit an Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer to support the delivery of high-quality electrical designs across a varied portfolio of projects. This role offers strong technical exposure, structured development, and the opportunity to work as part of a collaborative, professional design team. You will be involved in all stages of the electrical design process, from concept through to delivery, working closely with senior engineers, CAD technicians and the wider project team.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the formulation of project briefs and design criteria
- Participate in all aspects of the electrical design package
- Produce electrical drawings, specifications and calculations to a high standard
- Attend client meetings where required
- Support the Team Leader and client interface on assigned projects
- Work across a range of projects covering multiple construction sectors
- Coordinate building services designs with internal teams and external consultants
- Support and liaise with the CAD / Revit team as required
- Assist with BREEAM-related duties
- Review and, with support, check contractor design proposals and performance
- Develop site understanding and assist with monitoring project progress
Qualifications
- Experience working as an Electrical Design Engineer within a building services consultancy
- Good understanding of electrical building services design principles
- Experience producing drawings, specifications and performance calculations
- Familiarity with coordinating designs within a multi-disciplinary environment
- Exposure to BREEAM and sustainability-led projects (desirable)
- Strong communication skills and a proactive, team-focused approach
