An exciting opportunity has arisen for an MEP Compliance & Commissioning Engineer to join a well-established building services consultancy with over 40 years’ industry experience. Specialising in complex projects including automated warehousing and e-commerce distribution facilities, this role offers a unique blend of office-based technical review and hands-on site commissioning. You’ll play a key role in ensuring design compliance, installation quality, and successful project delivery from design through to final commissioning.
This is a varied position combining design review, compliance assurance, and on-site commissioning activities. You’ll work closely with internal design teams, contractors, and clients to ensure all MEP systems are delivered in line with specifications, standards, and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities:- Office-Based Duties:
- Conduct final design reviews and project handovers with internal teams
- Review Stage 3 & 4 design information produced by designers and contractors
- Carry out quality assessments of technical documentation
- Support continuous improvement by implementing lessons learned across projects
- Monitor installation works on-site to ensure compliance with design intent
- Liaise with clients and stakeholders throughout project delivery
- Produce detailed site and progress reports
- Carry out snagging inspections throughout installation and at project completion
- Develop and oversee commissioning and testing programmes
- Attend commissioning and testing activities as required
- Track scope changes and support change management processes
- Contribute to post-project reviews and lessons learned
- Degree-qualified in Building Services Engineering or related discipline
- Strong understanding of mechanical building services design and delivery
- Experience in commissioning, compliance, or site-based project delivery
- Knowledge of UK health & safety legislation and industry standards
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality and compliance
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work to tight deadlines
- Confident communicator with experience liaising with clients and contractors
