An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Electrical Design Engineer to join a well-established building services consultancy delivering projects across a wide range of sectors. This role offers the chance to develop your technical expertise across the full project lifecycle, supporting senior engineers while contributing to high-quality electrical design solutions. You’ll work within a collaborative team environment, gaining exposure to both design and site-based activities.
As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will support the delivery of electrical design packages from concept through to completion. Working closely with senior engineers and multi-disciplinary teams, you’ll contribute to project success through technical delivery, coordination, and continuous development.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist in the development of project briefs and design criteria
- Support electrical design across a variety of projects and sectors
- Attend client and design team meetings where required
- Contribute to the production of drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
- Produce or assist with services performance calculations
- Support coordination of building services with wider design teams
- Assist the Team Leader/Client Interface on project delivery
- Work closely with the CAD team to produce accurate design outputs
- Support BREEAM-related activities where required
- Assist in reviewing contractor design proposals and performance
- Develop site understanding through visits and progress monitoring
- Work collaboratively within a team to deliver successful project outcomes
- Engage in Continued Professional Development (CPD)
- Experience in electrical design within a building services environment (or relevant graduate experience)
- Understanding of UK building regulations and industry standards
- Ability to produce technical drawings and specifications
- Strong communication skills and willingness to learn
- A proactive and collaborative approach to team working
- Interest in sustainable design and BREEAM principles (desirable)
- Ability to manage workload and meet project deadlines
