An established and forward-thinking engineering firm in the Greater Oxford Area is seeking a highly skilled Senior Designer to join its growing team. The company operates at the forefront of automotive, motorsport, aerospace, and defence engineering, delivering complex programs from concept to prototype using advanced manufacturing techniques and composite materials.
This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects using the latest in CAD, FEA, CFD, 3D scanning, robotics, and 3D printing, within a collaborative environment that values innovation, quality, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and deliver advanced engineering design projects using CATIA V5
- Develop and manage concept designs through to production-ready solutions
- Work closely with production teams to ensure smooth program delivery
- Apply best practices in Design for Manufacture (DFM), MRP, and PLM
- Integrate modern tools and technologies such as 6-axis robots, 3D scanning, and rapid prototyping
- Solve complex design challenges with innovative, practical solutions
- Strong understanding of composite and metallic materials and manufacturing processes
- Familiarity with FEA, CFD, and digital mock-up (DMU) processes
- Hands-on knowledge of composite tooling and equipment such as autoclaves and post-cure ovens
- Experience in automotive or motorsport engineering preferred
- Strong organisational, communication, and project management skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Based in or willing to relocate to the Greater Oxford Area
