Our client is a long established family run business and have been market leaders of the meat industry for decades.
Due to an ever increasing demand an opportunity has arisen for a new Butcher to join this award winning company within the Darlington area.
Our client is dedicated to creating a great working environment and take pride in creating fantastic produce.
This role is a temp-to-perm position, with hours from 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Saturday. You\’ll have Sundays and one weekday off.
As a Butcher, you will be responsible for the following:
- Producing meat for sale including bone out carcasses with good cutting standards
- Ensuring that all food safety and health and safety regulations are met within the butchery department
- Cleaning and maintaining tools and equipment
- Weighing, packaging, pricing, and displaying products
- Keeping records, budgets, and inventory
- Performing quality inspections on meats and other products
- Coordinating deliveries or order pickups
To be considered for the role of Butcher, you must have previous experience in butchery, as well as the following:
- The ability to understand detailed training
- The ability to complete tasks within defined time limits
- Knife skills are essential
- The ability to maintain a sterilised knife at all times when undertaking the role
- To be enthusiastic, committed and self-motivated
- Adopts a ‘can do’ attitude to challenging situations
