Summary
Training Co-ordinator is responsible for completing training activities related to general Compounding and associated activities, delivered through Structured On-The-Job Training (SOJT), Instructor Led Training (ILT) and the use of digital formats. They are required to provide practical and coaching support to newly qualified compounding staff to assist them in reaching efficiency within the unit. They are required to complete documentation actions and use the BAXU training system for recording of training and provide collaborative assistance for the creation and updating of training materials. They must co-operate and consult within the training team to ensure expected training outcomes, targets and metrics are met and recorded. They are expected to support Non-conformance (NCR), CAPA and Change Control activities associated with training.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform training and training support activities whilst maintaining full compliance with Unit SOP’s, cGMP, and training materials, maintaining excellent aseptic practices/behaviours within the cleanroom and associated areas.
- Complete documentation (hardcopy or electronic) associated with training activities and maintain BAXU training completion recording.
- Support NCR/CAPA/Change Control actions associated with training.
- Collaborate on SOJT / ILT and other training material format development/revision.
- Act as an ambassador for Good Manufacturing Practice, correct and report bad practice.
- Remain in compliance with personally assigned BAXU learning objects and drive compliance activities to support the Unit to meet training Key Performance Indicator metrics.
- Participate in Continuous Professional Development activities.
- Perform other duties as required.
Experience and Attributes
Type of Experience Required
- Qualified Compounding Technician with a minimum of 1 years’ experience of working within an aseptic environment.
- Aseptic technique knowledge and current Aseptic Operator Qualification in place.
- Gowning Validations current (when site dictates).
- Familiarity of therapies manufactured in UKIC Compounding; Antibiotics, TPN, Chemotherapy and CIVAS compounding principles.
- Understanding of cleanroom requirements, behaviours, and activities.
- Knowledge of cabinet types: Cytotoxic Drug Safety Cabinet (CDSC) / Isolator Technology / Laminar Flow (LAF) cabinet / Restricted Access Barrier Systems (RABS).
- Basic Microbiology knowledge.
- GMP knowledge.
- Knowledge of On-The-Job Training (OJT) systems or other competency-based training system.
- Competent to work in supporting areas of Compounding manufacture e.g., Labelling, V.I. Pre-compounding, Picking, Preparation etc.
- Basic computer systems Word and Excel.
Preferred
- Training experience.
- Pharmaceutical manufacturing or related industry experience.
- Cleanroom experience.
- Hospital and/or retail pharmacy experience.

Education and/or Qualifications
Education:
- Required: English minimum equivalent to RQF Grade 2, EQF Grade 3 or SCQF Grade 5.
- Preferred: Science subject minimum equivalent to RQF Grade 2, EQF Grade 3 or SCQF Grade 5.
- Desirable: Post-secondary diploma or equivalent in Training or relevant field.
- Successful completion for an Accredited Pharmacy Technician Education Program.
- Internal Candidate: Successful completion of Baxter Internal OJT and ILT qualification program.
