Apply for the Manufacturing Technician role at Baxter International Inc. This role is based at our Elstree site and focuses on manufacturing bone hemostats, a synthetic bone graft material for surgeons. The site has 40 employees, so while part of a global company you will be part of a close‑knit team.
Work schedule: Monday to Friday 07:30‑16:00, with one Saturday 06:00‑14:00, 40 hours per week. No shift work. Salary: £28,000 to £32,000 per annum (dependent on experience). Annual leave: 25 days plus bank holidays.
Role Responsibilities
- Generate batch documentation as appropriate.
- Undertake tasks as allocated on the manufacturing plan including basic cleanroom maintenance checks.
- Complete transactions on a computerized ERP system.
- Inform Senior Manufacturing Technician/Supervisor if allocated tasks are not completed.
- Carry out other duties as allocated outside the manufacturing process and use own initiative to find/complete other work.
- Complete training of basic manufacturing processes.
- Consistently establish and maintain priorities to complete tasks and projects within timelines.
- Maintain accurate record keeping and good housekeeping.
- Report any errors or issues to QA and manufacturing leadership team.
- Ensure own training record is kept up to date and BAXU modules completed on time.
- Ensure the management team and appropriate team members are aware of issues or potential issues in a timely manner.
- Communicate clearly in writing and verbally.
- Attend and participate in operations department meetings.
- Work cohesively with other team members to achieve target outputs.
- Promote a strong teamwork environment and cooperate across departments to resolve issues.
- Participate in quality improvement and process waste elimination efforts by supporting continuous improvement ideas.
Experience Required
- GCSE Level Standard or equivalent.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Able to work as part of a cross‑functional team.
- Background in manufacturing, ideally in a highly regulated environment.
- Knowledge of SOPs and non‑conformances would be an advantage but not essential.
