Main purpose of the Role: The main purpose of the role is to define the method and process of manufacture for the value stream unit in order to meet internal and external customer requirements, ensuring the quality and delivery of all products within budgeted costs. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development of the method of manufacturing and/or assembly of components into finished goods. This is a core role as part of the Value Stream team, which is fundamental in providing engineering support to develop quality products on time and on cost whilst driving continuous improvement using World Class Manufacturing methodologies and embedding these within the Value Stream.
Additional Duties, Responsibilities & Measurements:
- Operate as part of the wider value stream team
- Represent the Site / Value stream with customers, suppliers or other external visitors
- Participate in compliance audits supporting the maintenance of external accreditations
- Contribute to the creation and implementation of a best practice manufacturing vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve operational performance
- Contribute to new business initiatives and projects and review and communicate the impact on Manufacturing activities
- Undertake continuous training and development
About You: We want to make sure you’re set up for success in our mission. To be successful in your application you’ll need:
- Essential: Relevant engineering degree, HND, BTec / Professional Level 5 Award or equivalent NVQ Level 5 qualification
- Prior experience as a Manufacturing Engineer within a Press/Machine Tool environment
- Understanding of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Kaizen, lean manufacturing
- Excellent communication skills
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001
- Empowering & motivating teams to achieve results.
- Demonstrated delivery of KPIs (SQCDP)
- Strong leadership & organizational skills
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems experience
- Previous experience/strong understanding of budgeting/expense management with basic understanding of financial accounting practices.
Desirable:
- Green Belt or Black Belt in Lean Sigma
- CPIM or APICS Basics or working towards
- Turret Press Nesting software knowledge
- World Class Manufacturing experience
- Working knowledge of SAP or (M3) systems
