I'm working with a well-loved, busy coastal pub with rooms in Essex that's looking for a strong Sous Chef to join the kitchen team. This role will be contracted at 45 hours per week, operating Wednesday to Sunday, and overtime will be paid. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with fresh, seasonal produce in a proper food-led pub environment. The kitchen is well organised, the menu is quality-driven, and there's a good mix of locals, regulars, and destination diners.

The Role:

  • Supporting the Head Chef with the day-to-day running of the kitchen
  • Leading the team during service and ensuring consistency across all dishes
  • Maintaining high standards of food quality, presentation, and hygiene
  • Assisting with ordering, stock control, and GP
  • Helping with menu input and seasonal changes
