Tigrinya Interpreter
Bawso is the leading organisation in Wales providing practical and emotional support to black minority ethnic (BME) and migrant victims of domestic abuse, sexual violence, human trafficking, Female Genital Mutilation, and forced marriage.
We are seeking to appoint a Tigrinya Interpreter.
What you will be doing:
- Assist families who are unable to speak English to communicate with Bawso staff and staff from other agencies in their first language.
Type of vacancy: self-employed
Candidates must be able to speak English and another language or languages fluently.
You must hold, or be willing to obtain, an Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) and sign up for the DBS Update service.
You must be willing to attend one of our offices in Wales to verify your ID documents in person.
Rates:
Internal Interpreters Rates:
- Face-to-Face: £25.00 first hour; £16 per hour from the 2nd hour onwards (minimum 1 hour, then adjusted to nearest 15 mins)
- Telephone: £25.00 first hour; £16 per hour from the 2nd hour onwards (no minimum time, adjusted to nearest 15 mins)
Travel Expenses:
Actual receipts and £0.40 per mile (bus, train, own car)
External – Trading Arm:
- Face-to-Face and Telephone: £25.00 first hour; £16 per hour from the 2nd hour onwards (minimum 1 hour, then adjusted to nearest 15 mins)
