Bawso is the lead organisation in Wales providing practical and emotional support to black minority ethnic (BME) and migrant victims of domestic abuse, sexual violence, human trafficking, Female Genital Mutilation and forced marriage.

Location: Swansea

Salary: £26,300 per annum (pro rata)

Contract: Fixed Term/Full Time, 37.5 hours per week

Role

The aim is to work within a community development framework. The worker will be responsible for raising awareness of VAW, FGM, HBV and Forced Marriage in practicing communities and to support women and girls to challenge the custom within South West, East & Mid Wales Area. The role involves providing advice, advocacy, outreach, risk assessment, and practical support, while working closely with partner agencies to safeguard and empower women and girls. This role is restricted to female applicants only in accordance with the provisions of the occupational requirement (Equality Act 2010, pursuant to Schedule 9, Part 1).
